Melanie has been a birding hobbyist for years and loves feeding and photographing birds of all types. When she's not writing for Bird Feeder Hub, Melanie works in the field of Environmental Science. Even outside of work, Melanie enjoys watching and learning about birds and animals.

Her backyard feeder is not just a hobby, but a window to a lifelong passion that started in her childhood. Over the years, Melanie has identified more than 250 bird species, with sightings of the Atlantic Puffin, Hawaiian Goose, and Arctic Tern among her most cherished.

Melanie also loves visiting National Parks and has recently travelled to parks like Bryce Canyon, Zion, Great Smoky Mountains, Yellowstone, the Dry Tortugas, and many more. Many of the captivating bird photographs on the Bird Feeder Hub website come directly from Melanie's camera.

When she's seeking a change of pace, Melanie likes reading, crocheting, hiking, and crafts having to do with nature.
